Do You Believe Listening To Music Is Purely Entertainment Or As A Method To Soothe Yourself?
Do you believe listening to music is purely entertainment or as a method to soothe yourself?
Do you believe listening to music is purely entertainment or as a method to soothe yourself?
Yes.
Definately a method to soothe oneself. The type of music one puts on to listen to depends upon the purpose of listening. Specially in teenage years, people listen to sad songs and try to feel those emotions even when in real life that is not the situation. May be sad songs give soothing and comforting feeling and the listener feels connected and realises that there are other people in the world with problems and its Ok to have the same in their life. Above is a personal experience answer.

The music I listen to triggers all sorts of emotions: pride, happiness, depression, etc.
It’s also my main therapeutic tool. Some songs are quite soothing, while others bring out something else inside you. I don’t think everyone listens to music as a form of entertainment, but rather listen to it as a sort of release valve.
it is definetly
EDIT: sorry computer got all screwed.
It is definelty a way of soothing yourself and others. It is alos therapy, at least it has been for me. Threw Music, you can meet friends (and create your own), make enemys, help you get through school.
If music suddenly diapered of the surface of the earth, I know I would personally die, no, I would actually, I would kill myself.
Music= Life. Simple as that.
both. i download and listen to music when i’m bored as a form of entertainment. also concerts are a great form of entertainment.
but when im upset or stressed out certain music can als calm me down. sometimes i need music to relax me and help me fall alseep.
the music i listen to also depends on my mood. when i’m feeling romantic i listen to love songs. when i’m feeling angry or upset i listen to like that emo stuff! lol! or if i want to get out of an upset feeling there are certain songs i listen to to cheer me up.
so music has a big effect on your emotions. but it can also be for entertainment too.
Yeah, I agree, I use it as therupudic.
However, trance music connects me most with myself/emotions. To me that’s really the only healing music that calms and relaxs me and helps me reflect on things………..
Plus it is proven that trance is indisputably one of the most emotional genres that actually exists, because it is all self-interpretation.
I think music is the only thing that can understand me. Theres so much variety out there now that any song you listen to, you can just say for me it cures my thoughts. Its almost like a crave, I have to listen to it. Sometimes musics all you really need to solve your problems, really!
I would say it’s more for my moods.
I literally get all crazy and extremely irritable when i am without my ipod for longer than a few hours.
Which sounds like a teenager, but i seriously can not be without it. IDK if it’s my iPod, CD player, even an old tape player.
I don’t usually listen to it out loud though, most times if i do, its recreational or because my head hurts to bad to listen through headphones.
That depends on what sort of music you are listening to.
For instance, when I do my housework I like to listen to some chirpy, up-tempo music. For relaxation “Enya-style” seems to do the trick. But some of the latest dance craze CDs really aggravate me.
It’s all in the eye of the beholder.
Both! Music can make such a big difference in things. Imagine the Titanic movie without any music when Jack was dying.
I use it for warming up, then working out, cooling down afterwards. I use it to get through rough times, when I’m pissed off and when I can’t sleep! Plus, it’s fun to grab a guitar and play along with it.
Music is like a bridge that unites us as a ppl.It has been used for healing, relaxation, and appreciation.
For me music is a sanctuary,a key to the gates. It calms me and makes me forget about all the thins in my life.
Music is both. But you’ll notice that when you’re looking for music as entertainment you’ll listen to the stuff that is loud, but when you need it to help you feel better than you’ll listen to more laid back music…
I think both is used to make me happy and entertained, like dancing. And Spiritual Music, will soothe my Soul. I Love Music . Especially the song called Sparta the mean Kitty .
Good question, it varies on my mood, sometimes I want to be entertained and will listen or sing along with the music and then there are times when I want to chill and have some laidback music in the back ground
It can be both, some music are entertainment, while some songs are soothing and relaxing, some are used as a motivational tool, some songs are even used to sexually stimulate people and set the mood.
Both, and its also inspiring to me because I’m a musician, so if I hear something cool I get inspired to write a song
I believe both. When I’m stressed, I use music to calm myself. When I’m bored, I listen to it to have fun.
I think music can be both actually. Yes, it does soothe me when I am in a strange mood or if I am upset over something. It just depends on what mood I am in.
I definitely find music can relax me or invigorate me, depending on what mood I am in or want.
Definitely a method for helping with emotions.
Both. I enjoy music but lyrics help me relate to the writers and help me get through things or relieve myself. It does soothe me…i LOVE music!
Both, and i associate many songs with time periods of my life.
It can be used as either. I use it for entertainment, or to focus on writing a story.
I use it mostly as therapeutic tool, but it can really go either way.
It really depends on the listener. I use music both ways.
Ever since i can remember I’ve took music as a way to relax or help to go trough difficult stages in life.
I believe it can be used for both.
It is to soothe myself.
It is more of a therapy, i think. Many may not know it.
it definately soothes me. it brings me to my happy place, always
it soothes myself
